Did You Know?

It’s another beautiful, sometimes rainy, week in Jacksonville! Speaking of which, as of June 1st, hurricane season has started so make sure to stock up on batteries, water, and vodka.

Our theme for June is Local Businesses: Getting Found on Google Places. What was the last local business you looked up online? Were you searching for a dentist? A chiropractor? A pizza restaurant? And why did you pick the one you did? Was it just the first listing or the one with the best reviews? Or did you pick based on the one you had heard of before? We want to know! Leave your answers on our Facebook or Twitter (profile links below) or just reply to this email. You will be entered in a drawing to get your picture taken with a signed photo of MacGyver!

Also, if you missed Forbes’ Top 10 Best Cities for Finding Employment from April, here is what they had to say about the First Coast:
“No 3. Jacksonville is another example of city with a diverse and highly educated labor force. With unemployment at 6.5%, Jacksonville is seeing the heaviest hiring in higher education, healthcare, IT, food services, transportation and logistics, and government work from the city’s three military bases.”

Finally, to round out our June edition, today is Hug Your Cat day! So don’t forget to hug your feline or borrow your neighbor’s if you have to. Here is a video to get you started: Cat Hugs
